24 and 25 June: Days of prayer for Venezuela

The next 24 and 25 the Order of Augustinian Recollects asks for a prayer for Venezuela. This initiative is promoted by Fr. Carlos María Domínguez, prior provincial of the Province of Santo Tomás de Villanueva after the Visit of Renewal to the Vicariate of Venezuela. From the General Curia they also join the initiative making the whole Augustinian Recollect family part of it.

The Prior Provincial has sent a letter addressed to the whole community, describing what he had lived in Venezuela in order to sensitize all the brothers and to accompany the members of the Order there through prayer, who “day by day , Bear witness to our charism by serving the Venezuelan Church and the people of God entrusted to them. ”

In dialogue with the Council of the Vicariate of Venezuela, and with the consent of the Provincial Council, it has been decided that, on the weekend of June 24 and 25, the anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, a fundamental event in Venezuela’s independence, Is celebrated in all communities and ministries of the Province the “Day of Prayer for Venezuela”.

For these days, addressed to the members of the Order, to the schools and to anyone who wants to join them, prayers are demanded and “protection, peace and the future of Christ should be placed in the hands of Jesus Christ. Venezuela “(Message of the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference).

Video to raise awareness of the situation in Venezuela
The Order has made a video in which young Venezuelans of the JAR and other people appear, recounting the situation so hard that is being lived in Venezuela. They demand justice, freedom and support. Therefore, we invite everyone to participate in this Day of Prayer on June 24 and 25.
