Communication

Evangelization and communication are two realities that have always gone hand in hand. The command of Jesus, “Go to the whole world and proclaim the Gospel,” has meant adapting the message to different audiences and contexts throughout history.

Currently, the development of the media, both traditional (press, books, radio, television) and the most recent (Internet, social networks, smartphones, VR) makes it even more important that the Gospel, the Magisterium and the ecclesial tradition be ever more present to become comprehensible to our contemporaries, both those who have known another context and those who have already been born as ‘digital citizens’. The strength, freshness and novelty of the Gospel is something that remains unchanged, but the way to transmit it must go along with the times.

The purpose of the communicative work of the Augustinian Recollects is to make known the work of the Order throughout the world, not to give an image of greatness, but to make known the Augustinian Recollect charism as an evangelizing tool.

As Augustinian Recollects we also feel responsible for the legacy of the work and spirituality of St. Augustine, patrimony of the Church, which we are called to share, updating their wealth for the man of today.

Within the Order of Augustinian Recollects, the Communication and Publications Commission, under the Prior General, is in charge of fostering presence and dialogue with the most current media. We are present in the world of research through periodic scientific publications (AVGVSTINVS and Recollectio), we bet on multimedia content distributed on our website and on social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and we continue looking for ways to get the Gospel, the work of St. Augustine and the history, current affairs, mission and spirituality of the Order to today’s world.

The Communication Office of the Augustinian Recollect Order is responsible for all this.
