The Augustinian Recollect Vocation Year, ARVY 2008, which comes to an end these days, has been, according to Fr Javier Guerra, Prior General of the Order, “an opportunity for the members of the Augustinian Recollect family to be one, to have one soul and heart directed towards God, centered on the pastoral care of vocations”.

The fomenting of the vocation culture in society is a work that all those belonging to the Augustinian Recollect family engage in: major superiors, bishops, vocation promoters and directors, Secular Fraternities and RAY groups, OAR religious nuns and sisters and committed lay people.

The invitation to the closing of the Vocation Year wanted to reach out to all of these. The expression “Vocation Culture” refers to the project of God for every person leading him to think, believe, act and sow in mankind a different way of life governed by Gospel standards and the teachings of the Church.
