Praying is loving
by OAR
Nothing but God can suffice for us and only in Him one can rest. To love God knowing that one can rest in a God who loves from the very beginning, who loved before and will make us remain in his loving presence.
«Give yourself to me, my God, return to me. Look, I love you. Even if it so little, grant that I may love you more intensely. I cannot measure how much love I need that it may be sufficient, and that my life may turn in search for your arm, in such a way that no one may be capable of breaking away from it until he finds his hiding place in the most veiled part of your face. (Ps. 30: 21) I only know one thing: that away from you, it goes not good for me, and not only outside of myself, but in my very self. And that all richness that is not my God, is poverty» (23).
Above our heads and our history, the mystery of God flutters, but most especially the Spirit in order to put weight and measure, order and splendor, sign and charm in what has been made in us. Even to rest in God is God and love lifts us up toward the highest, toward the good Spirit which stirs us to live with a simple heart in the presence of God. "Our peace is in good will."
«My love is my weight, He takes to where I am taken. It is your gift that enkindles us and takes us toward the highest; we are enflamed and we move forward. We climb the steps of the heart and we sing the canticle of the steps. With your fire, with your good fire, we are enflamed and we move forward, because we move upward, to the peace of Jerusalem. What a joy when they told me: Let us go to the house of the Lord (Ps 126: 6.1). Good will will place us in it, up to the point of not aspiring more than that: to remain there for all eternity». (24)
