Prayer is a personal encounter, a dialogue with God, which is realized from the very heart of man and from his clamor that reaches the heart of God. Prayer is a dialogue of faith and love. Saint Augustine starts from a conviction: Before we might have searched for God, He loved us as a Father in order to unite us to Christ enlivened by the Spirit of Love.
“Prayer is a gift from God,” which must be embraced. The heart must be opened to receive it. If it is a personal relationship, it speaks then of being present before God.” On this way of presence and search, it is necessary to “invoke God,” to desire, to call, to ask, to clamor and to open the heart so that he may enter into the most intimate part of his very being.
