Production Augustinian Editorial

The Order of Augustinian Recollects has an editorial which promotes the knowledge and diffusion of the work and thought of St. Augustine. By means of more than 100 books published concerning the figure of St. Augustine and by means of the journals, Augustinus and Recollectio, the Order has gained a reputation as a source for the study and analysis of St. Augustine of Hippo.

More than 100 books about Augustine

The Editorial, AUGUSTINUS, has been in operation for more than half a century. Throughout these years, there were around 100 titles of works distributed in various collections whose contents are directly related to the world of Augustine and the spirituality of the Recollection.

These works are gathered in various collections:
- Collection entitled Nuestros Santos Agustinos: 11 titles.
- CCollection IV Centenario: 60 titles.
- Fraternidad Seglar Agustino-Recoleta: 5 titles.
- Oficial Books: 9 titles.
- Other titles.

AVGVSTINVS Magazine

Since 1956, the journal, AVGVSTINVS, has continued publishing semiannually dedicating its attention, almost exclusively, to the context, life, work and influence of St. Augustine of Hippo.

This is apparent from a review of the journal’s index last published in Volume 41 and in which there are 650 pages of materials referring to Augustinian studies and relevant humanistic topics.

Important cultural events have also been incorporated in the various volumes of the journal such as the third centenary of the death of Blaise Pascal, the seventh centenary of the death of St. Bonaventure. Volume 25 was dedicated to the theme, Presencia de San Agustín en España.

As an example of the prestige of the journal, 956 pages of articles in honor of the first director of the journal, Father Victorino Capánaga, were written by Augustinian scholars from many different nations. On a similar occasion, 1152 pages were dedicated to his successor, Father José Oroz Reta. It is worthwhile noting as well the publication in Spanish of the conferences presented every four years in Oxford.

RECOLLECTIO Magazine

RECOLLECTIO was founded in 1978 as an annual publication. It was intended to become the organ of communication of the Institutes of History and Spirituality of the Order. These institutes were created, respectively in 1957 and 1966.

Articles on the life and monastic ideal of St. Augustine as well the history, theology and spirituality of the various branches of the Augustinian family, especially, the history of the Augustinian Recollects.

Each number of the journal is usually divided into three parts, essays and studies, unpublished documents, and reviews of books of Augustinian interest as well as pertinent historical materials.
