The chapel is built with indigenous materials like mud (clay), bamboo, rice straw and palm leaves. Added to these would be recycled materials. This is the first religious edifice of the country powered by solar energy. The Augustinian Recollect artist, Jaazeal Jakosalem, a.k.a “Brother Tagoy,” has designed and coordinated the said project.

Although the Philippines is one of the oldest ancestral homes of the Recollection - present there since 1606- the Province of St. Ezequiel is the youngest among the eight Provinces that compose the Order. It was created on 1998, when the country celebrated its 100 years of independence. There are 145 religious whose medium age is 40 years. They attend to universities, parishes and colleges all throughout the archipelago, besides the missions in Sierra Leone and Taiwan.

Alrededor de doscientas personas participaron en la 12ª edición del Congreso Agustiniano 2012 celebrado en Bragança Paulista, para reflexionar sobre la “Espiritualidad Agustiniana”. Los agustinos recoletos estuvieron presentes con una treintena de miembros de las fraternidades seglares y con el nuevo provincial de Brasil, Nicolás Pérez-Aradros.
