FAE publish a book to enrich agustinian celebrations

The Federacion Agustiniana Española (FAE) has edited the book “Santos y beatos de la Familia Agustiniana” to serve the augustinian communities. The book aims to be a real Book of the Augustinian Chair.

A constant desire in our celebration is a blending of creativity with the wealth and depth of the texts, which is not required of official texts: monitions, invitations of penitential acts or other moments of the liturgy, prayers, homilies… We do not always have the time for adequate preparation and we would like to have texts available to help us: at times to proclaim them as they are written, at other times to serve us as inspiration to our creativity.

Liturgical supplement to the Augustinian Missal

We highlight some characteristics of its great value and utility: - It complements the Augustinian Missal and presents all the official liturgical texts that are proclaimed from the Chair, with the particularity that all formularies of the day corresponding to each celebration are complete. There is no need to go to the common texts when there are no proper ones.

- All celebrations have an introduction that includes the entrance antiphon and presents the outstanding features of the life and spirituality of each commemoration.

- It also gives an introduction to the penitential act.

- It offers a complete prayer of the faithful for every celebration.

- At the end of the most important celebrations, it offers at times a prayer over the people and at other times a solemn blessing.

- At the end of the text used in the liturgy of the Eucharist there is a biographical item that may deepen the life and spirituality of every celebration and inspire, together with the Word, a possible homily.

- The Appendix includes formularies for the blessing of roses (St Rita) and bread (St Nicholas of Tolentine), when these are done within the Mass.

- At the beginning of the book, we find the Ordinary of the Mass, with the indispensable elements of initial rites, Creed and concluding rites.

- Several illustrations mark the book on feasts and solemnities.
