The youngest Province of the Order decides its future for the next three years.
Although the Philippines is one of the oldest ancestral homes of the Recollection - present there since 1606- the Province of St. Ezequiel is the youngest among the eight Provinces that compose the Order. It was created on 1998, when the country celebrated its 100 years of independence. There are 145 religious whose medium age is 40 years. They attend to universities, parishes and colleges all throughout the archipelago, besides the missions in Sierra Leone and Taiwan.

Last Monday, the 13th of February, 25 friars representing the entirety of the Asian Province, under the presidency of the Prior General, Miguel Miró, started the Chapter in Talavera Retreat House, situated in the mountains which dominate the city of Cebu.
The dynamic is that normally followed in this kind of meetings. The first is the informative phase led by the team of the government during the period that is about to end. After analyzing the reality, the members of the Chapter is divided by commissions for the purpose of making plan of action for the next three years. And, the third and final phase is the election of the members of the team, from among those voted by the religious of the Province, who would put into action the program approved.
After being for 300 years a privileged field for parochial and ministerial apostolate, now a days the Order in the Philippines is most characterized by the two universities, two colleges on university rank, besides other educational centers. To these responsibilities are also 8 parishes they attend in the country and the missions in Sierra Leone and Taiwan, while helping in Labrea (Brazil). The Augustinian Recollects are also equipped with the most complete seminaries of the Order, the total of 4.
