Movie poster.CARDI, in Mexico, will provide full funding for a new film on St. Augustine
The Augustinian Recollects recently reached an agreement with Lux Vide and RaiFiction, producers of the film "St. Augustine, the man who became a Saint" to manage exclusive marketing rights in Mexico and fully allocate the funds raised to CARDI (Accompaniment Recovery Center and Integral Development). This center has been run by the Augustinian Recollects in Mexico for over 40 years, its mission is to meet the needs of families and children of hospital patients from remote and rural populations.
The premiere was attended by Bishop Carlos Briseño and Francisco Clavel Gil, Recollects, Sisters of the Convent of Tecamachalco, volunteers and people well-known for their work with CARDI. The show began at 5 pm and Tere Garcia served as master of ceremonies.
After a short talk on the harassment suffered by the Church during many years, a condensed version of the film was viewed. Upon leaving the screening, the views of those present were mostly positive, "…is a good film", "portrays a humanity of Augustine" and "on seeing it, the only thing that comes to mind is the conversion to a life with God”.
The film is a co-production from Germany, Italy and Poland, made by Lux Vide / RaiFiction, the Eos Entertainment RaiTrade and Grupa FilmanovaBaltmedia, and was directed by Christian Duguay.
Futher screenings in the auditorium CARDI
For those who want to see the film, there will be three more screenings on: 13th, 20th and 27th November in the Auditorium CARDI, Dr. Lucio 244, esq. Dr. Balmis, col. Doctors at 17 hrs. The ticket price is $ 250 pesos and includes the DVD.
This DVD will help accompany and assist families of sick people
As result of an agreement reached between the Augustinian Recollects and Lux Vide and RaiFiction production, the Order will have marketing rights in Mexico. Funds raised will be dedicated entirely to CARDI (Accompaniment Recovery Center and Integral Development.)
CARDI aims to accompany and assist the families of patients admitted to the General Hospital of Mexico, Children's Hospital and Medical Center Hospital Siglo XXI. It also provides care and support to vulnerable groups in Mexico City, mainly in the area nearest the Colonia Doctores, one of the most troubled spots in the city. The work of CARDI is developed with the valuable cooperation of a group of professionals and volunteers who are interested in the development of the human person.

Life of St. Augustine
Augustine (354-430), an Algerian, was born to a pagan father, Patricius, and a Christian mother, Monica. He was educated in the North African cities of Tagaste, Madaura and Cartago. He entered the Catholic Church though baptism in 387. He was ordained to the priesthood of Hippo in 391 and bishop of the same city in 395.
