St. Augustine of Hippo (354-430) -Saint Augustine or Augustine of Hippo- is (with Saint Ieronimus, Saint Gregory and Saint Ambrosius) one of the most important fathers of the western Church.
The Prior General presides over and governs the Order by his proper authority or with his Council. He exercises his authority in accordance with the Constitutions over all the provinces, houses and brothers. The General Secretariats are organs of administration at the service of the Order. Their principal function is to provide information, incentive, and organization for activities in specific areas.
The Prior General and his Council are responsible in implementing the guidelines proposed by the General Chapter for the next six years. Miguel Miró took charge of the office following Javier Guerra Ayala who had been at the top of the institution for the last twelve years.

AUGUSTINIAN RECOLLECT NUNS
The Augustinian Recollect charism is shared by the monasteries of the Augustinian Recollect cloistered sisters. They constitute the Second Order which came into existence at the same time as the masculine congregations. They share the same spiritual aspirations as the first recollects. These sisters, by means of their life of contemplation, conserve this fundamental dimension of our charism.
AUGUSTINIAN RECOLLECT SISTERS
The congregations of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters, Augustinian Recollect Sisters of the Heart of Jesus, the Augustinian Recollect Missionary Sisters and the Augustinian Recollects Sister of Sick, each conserving its particular identity and mission, all form a part of the Augustinian Recollect Family.
The members of the Augustinian Recollect Secular Fraternity, in accordance with their condition as lay persons, commit themselves to live the Gospel under the inspiration of the experience and spirituality of the Order. They also pertain to the Augustinian Recollect family and participate in its ideal, gifts, and fecundity.
LAY CHRISTIAN YOUTH
In the 19 countries in which the Order is present, the religious attempt to carry out the formation of the youth in order that they may joyfully live a spirituality which is based in love and friendship. They, too, are united in the same family.
