Simple professed religious of the Provinces of St. Nicholas of Tolentino and Our Lady of Consolation arrived in Marcilla at the end of August, continuing the tradition of collaboration between Provinces in formation courses. This year the group welcomed religious from the Province of St. Joseph, Gilber Valenzuela and Wilmer Moyetones, who along with Tomas Ortega, Jose Asuncion Sanchez, were making preparations for Solemn Profession.
History and spirituality of the Order
Angel Martinez Cuesta, Historian of our Order initiated the course with presentations that focused on the years from 1930 to the present, focusing on the various elements that have formed the life and history of our Order and are still relevant.
History and Spirituality maintained an integral part of the course, with the young religious organizing themselves in groups for study and discussion of pertinent themes and lectures which were later presented to the larger assembly.
St. Augustine and his work
Enrique Eguiarte, Director of Augustinus, later began the week dedicated to the study of St. Augustine, using as his guide The Treatise on the Holy Trinity and the City of God. These works were selected because of the theological, pastoral and spiritual dimension they afforded the participants. He began this particular week with a presentation of themes from previous years that focused on the biography of St. Augustine, presentation of a variety of his writings and controversies that surrounded the context of these works.
