To have a general vision and to have awareness of the strengths and the weaknesses of the Order, with the purpose of elaborating the projects of life and local, vicarial and provincial missions of the whole Order, is the fundamental task of the Commission of Revitalization and Restructuring.
In the meeting held in Madrid the stage of motivation and sensitization in each one of the eight provinces of the Order was evaluated by means of seven documents of reflection and statistical situation of the Order in the different countries in which it is present.
Analysis of the Reality
The central point of the meeting was the analysis of the reality of the Order. The contributions of the Religious and of the Provincial Councils were re-examined as well as the strategic analysis done by a team of professionals. As a conclusion of this analysis, the Commission has elaborated a document of synthesis which was foreseen to be made known on the first days of March.
From the analysis of the reality of the Order some criteria have been proposed to examine the ministries responsibly assumed or those other services which today are required of the Order. These criteria drawn out from the opportunities found in the analysis should help revitalize the institution and reorganize the structures in a way that only those which facilitate life and mission as Augustinian Recollects be maintained.
Consultations to the Religious
The 54th General Chapter asked, besides that the Commission would conduct consultation among the religious. In order to comply with this requisite a questionnaire has been prepared that would help the realization at once of the proposals of revitalization and restructuring of the Order, the final objective which the Commission has marked.
Since the beginning of the process, the Commission has been making an urgent call for corresponsibility, and now it insists in the same sense: the revitalization of the Order is a process of personal, communitarian and pastoral conversion which affects all its members. It is fundamental, they indicate from the Commission, that the common purpose of being involved in the mission which as an Order has the Augustinian Recollect today in the Church.
